DVD Review: Just Yell Fire

Summary:A 2006 instructional DVD for Empowering Girls to Protect Themselves.

In the U.S., over 4m sex offenders are roaming our streets. Learning to protect youerself against kidnapping and rape could be the difference between becoming a statistic...and coming home tonight.

Chief Brian Martinek discourages walking home from school in isolation and encourages girls to arrange for a partner to accompany each other to/from traveling to/from school/work. He asserts:

• to not bringing ipods, walkmans, headphones, or other valuables.
• Travel together. On the bus, jogging,..
• Vary your route. "A common Theme." Don't give people a chance to know where you are going.
• Go with a partner.
• Do things together.
• Malls are for a variety of predators. If you have to go to a mall, go with a group.

"When you are in an attack situation," a trainer emphasizes when yelling 'help', 'rape', 'I'm being taken', "[p]eople think they are playing so that AREN'T going out of their way to see what's going on. People these days just don't want to get involved. Or they may be concerned for themselves that they will get hurt. But if you yell 'fire', people will notice".

Kini's Review:
Good for teenagers. Be cautious, yelling fire in an open theater (legal case set precedent) was the exception to the rule for the freedom of speech exemption. These days, we have overzealous prosecuting attorneys. If you don't believe me, just checkout http://kinispolarbear.bravehost.com.

Unfortunately, Kini has a "history of stalking women" and is a "sex offender". So, she cannot associate herself with female partners or male partners lest she is accused of stalking another and another and another. And, males may sense her vulnerability.

Additionally, Kini may not vary her route because her driver's license was deliberately suspended so that the U.S. Government may use her as an instrument to encourage male deviants and other predators so that she will "get use to" a life servicing Amercan men as a sex tourism spectacular.
